Meet the Master Clinicians

Kay Wing PT, DPT, NCS

Kay Wing, PT, DPT, NCS is the founder of Southwest Advanced Neurological Rehabilitation (SWAN Rehab), an outpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in the treatment of stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological diseases. She received her physical therapy degree from Northwestern University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. She is a board-certified specialist in neurological physical therapy. Dr. Wing has instructed workshops in PNF, neuro rehabilitation and mobility training throughout the United States and internationally. Dr. Wing is an adjunct faculty member at Northern Arizona University.

Kim Gatewood PT, DPT, NCS

Kim Gatewood, PT, DPT, NCS received her physical therapy degree from Marquette University and her clinical doctorate in physical therapy from Northern Arizona University. She is currently an associate clinical professor of physical therapy at Northern Arizona University and a therapist at HonorHealth John C Lincoln Medical Center. She is a board-certified specialist in neurological physical therapy. Dr. Gatewood has a rich history of teaching and mentoring therapists and students and has instructed workshops in PNF throughout the United States and internationally.

Kimberly Miller PT, DPT

Kimberly graduated from Northern Arizona University and has been working at SWAN Rehab since 2016. She enjoys working with all neuro populations, especially those with spinal cord injury, and works in the comprehensive vocational rehab program. She is the lead therapist at SWAN and provides mentorship to therapists and to physical therapy students. She has a passion for teaching and has taught internationally to PT and OT students in Haiti.

Principle Lab Instructors

Gillian Porter, PT, DPT, GCS, OTR

Gillian Porter, PT, DPT, GCS, OTR is a graduate of Northern Arizona University’s (NAU) Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, a board-certified Geriatric Specialist, and an Assistant Clinical Professor in NAU’s Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program. She is currently enrolled in NAU’s Interdisciplinary Health PhD program. Gillian has over eight years’ experience as a Physical Therapist (PT) in outpatient orthopedic settings primarily treating older adults with orthopedic and/or neurologic conditions. She has also worked as an Occupational Therapist (OT) treating adults with neurologic conditions in outpatient and home health settings. Gillian has specific expertise as both an OT and PT in treating people with Parkinson’s Disease. She has been contributing to the PNF courses led by Dr. Wing and Dr. Gatewood since 2011.

    YES! There are currently in excess of 265 scholarly articles published citing the effectiveness of PNF to improve patient care. Each principle of PNF has been carefully researched and updated annually.

  • Why should I bundle and take all 3 courses?

    First, you get a great discount on the third course! Second, each course is designed to build upon previous courses with skills and techniques. Third, to become a master clinician the therapist must be able to understand and treat all patient’s body systems in a way that incorporates high intensity and functional movement.
